Which Surah To Memorize First?

Out of the 114 Surahs of the Quran, it is recommended to start by memorizing the easiest one, which is Surah Al-Kauther, especially if you are only planning to memorize a few Surahs. If you intend to memorize the entire Quran, it’s better to start from the last part, which contains the easiest and shortest Surahs. You can either create a list of Surahs based on their verse count or follow the given order (starting from the bottom and working upwards is recommended for the 30th Juz).

It’s important to allocate separate time for Tajweed practice and translation to memorize each Surah effectively. If you find a Surah difficult to memorize, break it down into smaller chunks and focus on learning one chunk at a time. You can even break down a single verse into 2-4 phrases. The method you use to memorize the first Surah should be used consistently throughout the memorization process.
