So, divide the pages skillfully and learn with proper understanding. and excellent Tajweed. Your hifz quality should be phenomenal to make you and your hifz teacher happy.

Understand How Many Verses 2 Pages Ideally Have

In a standard Mushaf, we ideally have 14 lines and 6 or more verses. If you have a look at Surah Al-Mulk pages 1 and 2, we have 7 verses on page 1 and 9 verses on page 2.

Each Surah has a different number of verses per page. You will also see one or 2 verses in some Surahs.

Guide to Memorize 2 Pages a Day

This is the essential stage where you have to divide 2 pages in the whole day so you can easily memorize them with understanding and Tajweed. You have 3 options to deal with 2 pages. We will take the example of Surah Al-Mulk.

  • Option 1: Divide the pages according to the verses.
  • Option 2: Divide the pages according to the lines.
  • Option 3: Divide the page into 4 equal sections.  (1 page = 2 sections).

Once you finalize your option, make 5 slots for the day. Ideally, you can fix the intensive hifz course time after each prayer. Let’s have a look at the schedule considering all three options.

Option 1- Hifz by Verses

In Surah Al-Mulk we have 7 verses on page 1 and 9 verses on page 2. So, the division per slot will be as under. (total verses = 16)

Slot 1: After Fajr

Give 1 hour after fajr to your hifz session and try memorizing 5 verses early in the morning with a fresh mind and body. Focus on the meaning of the verses as well as Tajweed too.

Slot 2: After Zohr

Allocate 45 minutes after Zohr’s prayer to memorize 3 new verses by consolidating them with the previous 5. You can revise the 1st 5 verses in your prayer too.

Slot 3: After Asr

Spend 35 minutes after Asr to revise the previous 8 verses with no errors and memorize 3 new verses.

Slot 4: After Maghrib

Revise 11 verses in prayer and sit for 30 more minutes to memorize the next 3 verses. Combine them and check if they are correct.

Slot 5: After Isha

As this is the last slot so allocate 1 hour after Isha with full concentration. Revise all the previous verses in Isha and after that as well. Memorize the last 2 verses on the 2nd page and revise both pages thrice.

Note: If you think the time division is less, you can increase it according to your capacity. Take it up to 2 hours in Fajr to cover maximum verses early in the morning.

Option 2- Hifz by Lines

In Surah Al-Mulk we have 11 lines on page 1 and 13 lines on page 2. So let’s divide the lines on the slots. (total lines = 24)

Slot 1: After Fajr

Give 1 hour after fajr to your hifz session and try memorizing 7 lines early in the morning with a fresh mind and body. Repeat until they are perfectly memorized. Focus on the meaning and Tajweed rules for excellent retention.

Slot 2: After Zohr

Allocate 45 minutes after Zohr’s prayer to memorize 4 new lines by consolidating them with the previous 7. You can revise the 1st page in the next prayer to focus more on the next lines.

Slot 3: After Asr

Revise the previous page with no errors in Asr and memorize 5 new lines by dedicating around 35 minutes. Before signing off, revise all 16 lines.

Slot 4: After Maghrib

Revise the previous 16 lines in prayer and spend 30 minutes to memorize 4 new lines. Revise all 20 lines perfectly.

Slot 5: After Isha

Allocate 1 hour after Isha with full concentration. Revise in prayer as well as after it. Learn the remaining 4 lines to complete the page. Now, review both pages at least 5 times before reciting from the memory.

Option 3- Hifz by Sections

In Surah Al-Mulk we have 4 sections in 2 pages. Each section has around 6-7 lines.

Slot 1: After Fajr

Give 1 hour after fajr to your hifz session and try memorizing the 1st section of page 1. It will cover almost 3 verses. Do not forget to look at the translation and Tajweed rules. Understand the meaning in the morning and focus on the lesson for the whole day.

Slot 2: After Zohr

Allocate 45 minutes after Zohr’s prayer to memorize the 2nd section of page 1. It will have 4 verses.  Revise both sections and you are done with 1 page.

Slot 3: After Asr

Spend 35-40 minutes after Asr to revise the previous page with no errors and memorize the 3rd section on page 2. It will have 4-5 verses. Revise all the previous parts to consolidate them.

Slot 4: After Maghrib

Revise the portions in your salah and memorize the last section on the 2nd page in 30 minutes. Revise both pages to make them phenomenal in Tajweed and makharij.

Slot 5: After Isha

Spend 1 hour to revise both pages 5 times with a proper understanding of meaning and Tajweed. Recite it to someone before going to sleep.

Tips to Learn 2 Pages of the Quran in 24 Hours

1. Decode the meaning

As we said earlier, decode the meaning of the verses to have an understanding of what you are memorizing. There are numerous benefits of learning Surah Al-Mulk, so read out the benefits from authentic hadiths, and focus on the translation to link the verses with each other.

2. Repeat and recite

The best way to memorize two pages of the Quran is to repeat the verses until you remember them by heart. Avoid looking at the Mushaf and try revising the lines one after the other. The more you repeat and revise, the better the verses will be consolidated in your memory. In the beginning, it may feel like you’re forgetting the start of the next verse, but with continuous repetition, the verses will become firmly fixed in your memory.

3. Visualize and listen

When you start in the morning, read the verses by looking at them and tracing each letter with your finger. The picture of the lines will have a photogenic effect on your memory. Your brain will save the image of the beginning of each line and the end. When, after several readings, you will read out of your memory, the image will pop up in your eyes to help you recall the words exactly as they were.

After visualizing the verses, you need to play the audio of the recitation of the verses. First, read a verse and then listen to its recitation by a famous Qari. After that, recite the verse with the audio clip, and finally, recite the verse from memory in the same tone as you have heard it and this will help you to memorize 1 page of quran fast.

Best Quran Hifz Techniques to Learn Quran 2 Pages Fast

We have shortlisted the best quran memorization techniques to complete 2 pages per day.

1. Top to Bottom

You will require patience and stamina to apply this technique in a go. Either spare 2 hours or 3 but complete 2 pages and then keep revising them the whole day.

This is a very interesting method derived by one of the Qaris from Madina. He is of the view that read the verses in odd numbers by looking at them and then recite them from your memory in odd numbers. Let’s suppose you are memorizing the 1st verse of Surah al-Mulk:

Recite this verse 7 times by looking at it. Then 5 times without looking. Then again 3 times by looking at it, and finally 1 time without looking at it. This way you will have the numbers of reading in odd like 7,5,3, and 1.

Repeat this process, reading each verse three times and adding them to the pack by revising them together to memorize quran in 6 months.

4. Recite Before Sleeping

Before you go to bed, recite both pages and check if you have any errors or not. If there are mistakes (major or minor) correct them and keep revising until both the pages are 100% perfect. Also, this should be the last thing to do before sleeping. The next morning you will find out that the pages are as error-free as they were when you revised them last night.
